Job Description:
- Assisting the legal team in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting legal documents in relation to simple and complex corporate governance and commercial agreements, contracts, statements, etc.
- Providing accurate legal direction or advice to the team members on a wide range of legal activities that influence the company.
- Independently conducting legal research related to the laws and regulations of all business areas of the company.
- Working closely with departmental and group leadership to support business initiatives, advising on contract implementation, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals.
- Helping establish and maintain the legal-related issues, regulatory system, and corporate governance issues within the group.
- Anticipating and managing legal risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations, providing advice and suggestions on decision-making.
- Other duties as assigned and requested.
Requirements:
- At least a bachelor's degree from an accredited law school in the Philippines or overseas.
- Familiarity with and in-depth knowledge of Company Law, Labor Law, Civil Law, and relevant laws and regulations, especially in the area of the lending industry/financing companies is a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of working experience in law firms and corporates concentrated on commercial and business areas, PE/VC investments, or legal departments of banking or financial institution-related companies is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent and advanced level in English, both in speaking and writing.
- Strong sense of responsibility and good time management.
- Good awareness of teamwork and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent flexibility and openness to new challenges.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and grasp complex new business concepts, good commercial acumen, and creative approach to problem-solving.
